YOUR INFORMATION
Privacy in mydetailr
mydetailr uses account details, service requests, and appointment information to connect customers with detailers. This page describes the protections built into this application.
Public information
Published detailer and business profiles, services, pricing, service-area coordinates, approved portfolio images, and verified reviews are public. Use a service-area center or public shop location in your profile. Never publish a private home address. Reviews show your first display-name word and your review.
Quote requests
When you request a quote, you choose a detailer and agree to share your name, email, optional phone number, city, vehicle information, and service needs with them. Only you and that detailer can view the inquiry. The detailer may contact you directly about the requested service. Closing a request changes its status and does not delete its history.
Appointment details
Your appointment address, contact phone, and access instructions are stored separately from public profiles. You can see your own details. After confirmation, the assigned detailer and the booking’s business owner can see them to deliver the service. These details are not available to unrelated users or anonymous visitors.
Location and photos
Location sharing is optional and begins only when you request it. Discovery coordinates are used to find nearby detailers. Mobile appointment coordinates check the service radius; they are not saved with the booking. The appointment address is saved. Photos uploaded through the app are resized and stripped of embedded metadata, and remain private until approved.
Saved details and address search
You can optionally save vehicle labels and home or work addresses in your account. Saved addresses include coordinates for service-area checks. Only your account can read or change these saved entries. Removing one does not remove information from an existing appointment. When you search for an address, service city, or public shop, that search text is sent to the US Census Bureau’s location services; your name, account ID, and phone number are not sent. Unselected search text is not saved by mydetailr. A selected service city or shop location is saved when you save your detailer profile and is public when published. Current location is an optional alternative for appointment addresses when you are at that address.
Private photo estimates
Estimate photos are private and never enter the public portfolio. Drafts are visible only to you; submitting a request shares its photos, vehicle description, notes and proposed services with your chosen provider. If you opt in and request AI suggestions, your photos, vehicle type and notes are sent to OpenAI for analysis. Avoid faces, plates, documents, and addresses. OpenAI processing is subject to its API data policies; disabling response storage does not guarantee zero retention. You can send photos directly to a provider without AI.
Cancel an estimate to delete its photos and stop further review. Existing photo links may remain valid for up to 15 minutes. The request, assessment and review record remain in your estimate history. AI suggestions are provisional; the provider sets the approved scope and price.
Notifications and authentication
Appointment updates appear in your notification inbox. You can manage availability and promotion preferences in your account. Authentication uses this application’s separate Supabase project and browser session storage. Your session is removed when you sign out.
Appointment email delivery is pending sender setup. When enabled, emails go to confirmed account addresses and include a time, status, and secure appointment link. They do not contain your address, phone, or access instructions. You can opt out of appointment emails in account settings. Sign-in, signup confirmation, and password recovery emails are separate.
Payments
mydetailr does not collect payment details, process payments or offer paid subscriptions. Service prices and quotes are informational.
Your controls
You can change your profile and notification preferences, remove your photos, stop following a detailer, and unpublish your detailer profile. Keep personal information out of public profile descriptions, reviews, and portfolio photos.
